Learning

Learning from Nursery to Class 10.

A lesson should leave a child able to explain what they have learned and use it independently. That is the aim behind our approach to teaching.

Curriculum choices

Two boards to
choose from.

CBSE

We follow NCERT for CBSE. This pathway runs from Nursery to Class 10.

Maharashtra State Board

Our semi-English pathway follows the Maharashtra State Board, from Nursery to Class 10.

Working through
a new idea.

An example using fractions.
Teachers adapt the work to the class.

  1. 01

    Understand

Compare a half and a quarter using shapes of the same size.

    Why is a quarter smaller?
  2. 02

    Practise

Work through fraction questions and explain each answer.

    Can I explain my method?
  3. 03

    Apply

Work out the quantities needed to halve a recipe.

    How much will I need?
  4. 04

    Reflect

Check the quantities and correct any mistakes.

    Does my answer make sense?

Stages of learning

How the focus changes
as children grow.

01

Pre-Primary

Play, stories and movement introduce language and help children practise listening and sharing. Ask the school about current age eligibility.

02

Primary

Build confidence in reading, writing and number work. Practise explaining an answer and asking for help.

03

Middle School

Study subjects in greater depth and take more responsibility for planning work. Use feedback to improve.

04

Secondary School

Develop subject knowledge, study habits and preparation for examinations. Ask the school about subject choices and preparation for Class 10.

Admissions open for all classes, Nursery to Class 10. Contact admissions to discuss class placement.

The teacher's role

Notice where
help is needed.

A wrong answer can show a teacher what to explain next.

We ask teachers to look at how a child approaches a task, explain the parts they find difficult and help them try again. During your visit, ask to see examples of classroom work and discuss how teachers would support your child.
